Block 1 will be a mixture of formal lectures and practical exercises. The primary aim of this block will be to promote skills in developing algorithmic solutions to common programming problems and tasks, with a focus on object-orientated programming. Although the course will be taught using Python, there will be a focus on teaching general skills that can be implemented using different programming languages.
The first week of block 1 will introduce students to algorithmic logic, and then go on to cover important programming concepts; including functions, lists, for loops, if statements, and recursion.
Sessions will run from 9:30 am to 4 pm at the Exeter Q-Step Centre.
Lunch, coffee/tea and refreshments will be provided.
